Rachel Cobb Soprano

Opera Magazine
"Rachel Cobb made much of Miss Jessel's tragedy without any recourse to melodramatics in one of the best impersonations I have seen."

The Times
"Rachel Cobb's fiercely dramatic Mrs Jessel turns a cipher into a real player"

The Telegraph
"Rachel Cobb showed a gleaming lyric soprano as Miss Jessel"

Westfield Leader
"Rachel Cobb was perfectly cast as Donna Anna. Her mostly grief stricken arias contained the most genuine and poignant emotions in the opera. The sheer beauty of her voice would have been satisfying enough, but the exquisite phrasing and consistency of tone and power from the top to bottom of her range placed her at a higher level. Her voice had a ring to it that occurs when the technique is near perfect. Although Mozart's glorious score was certainly a factor, the emotional power and splendor of Cobb's singing provided me with the most goose bumps I experienced during the evening."

Opera News
Soprano Rachel Cobb, who had distinguished herself in a last-act appearance as Athena in Paride ed Elena, provided theatrical phrasing and real vocal thrust for an impressive account of Gluck's "Divinités du Styx" from Alceste.

Classical Voice
Rachel Cobb's pure soprano has the charm and fragility requisite for the role of Mimì. The cleanly articulated line in 'Mi chiamano Mimì', the beautifully floated high notes in the final scene—all testified to an artist in full command of her craft.
